We sat down with our newly appointed head of Direct to Consumer, Alisa Scholes.
Alisa has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry and has managed teams covering sales, collections, arrears, and complaints across the UK and Republic of Ireland. She also completed her Mental Health First Aider Certification, demonstrating her commitment to supporting the well-being of her colleagues.
What interested you in joining Marsh?
When asked about what interested her in joining Marsh, Alisa spoke about the company’s passion and commitment to supporting their future growth. She saw the new approach to direct-to-consumer sales as an opportunity to be part of something exciting and innovative. She has seen how much Marsh has progressed and grown over the last few years and could see the trajectory they were on.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity in the direct-to-consumer space?
Alisa emphasised the importance of engaging customers through various channels, including new marketing initiatives and technology. Reaching customers from all corners is important and we cannot leave any stone unturned.
How do you plan to differentiate Marsh from our competitors?
‘’For me, it’s all about the quality and speed of service we give to both the customer and the dealers to make buying a car enjoyable, informative and with ease. With the support of our great tech team, that journey is going to have a great feel for that end user where they want to come back to Marsh. However, to do this I also need to have engaged colleagues, at Marsh we have a great work-life balance and excellent benefits for example when revising rotas, I looked to see what works best for the business but also the colleague and thought would I want to work these shifts!’’
We hear you’re recruiting for Sales Executives; what qualities are you looking for in potential applicants?
We’re looking for people who have a knack and passion for sales, ideally in Car Finance, who want to give that great experience to customers and dealers. They must demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills in order to close opportunities and be highly organised with their time. Passion is an important quality that we’ll be looking for when recruiting, as being results orientated within their team performance is key to success in the DTC space.
