Meet the Team: Jake Pennell, Regional Sales Manager – South

We’re excited to introduce Jake Pennell, who has joined Marsh Finance as our new Regional Sales Manager for the South.

Jake brings a wealth of motor finance experience, strong dealer-facing knowledge, and a genuine passion for relationship building.

Jake has worked in motor finance for around 15 years, starting his career straight after university. Over the past nine to ten years, he’s specialised in field-based sales roles across the South of England. His experience spans banks, specialist finance houses, and broker environments, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how different parts of the industry operate and what dealers really need from a lending partner. That mix of perspectives is something he’s excited to bring to Marsh Finance.

After getting to know Jake’s professional background, we sat down with him for a quick Q&A to learn a bit more about what makes him tick.

What Are You Most Looking Forward To About Working At Marsh Finance?

Jake:
“I’m really looking forward to making a tangible difference to Marsh’s dealer network. There’s a great opportunity to help evolve Marsh’s current broker-focused approach and build stronger, more direct relationships with dealers. Showing partners the value of working closely with a lender is something I’m passionate about. For me, it’s about creating partnerships that genuinely support dealers’ growth, not just transactions.”

Jake is particularly motivated by helping Marsh expand how it works with dealers, opening up new opportunities and simplifying the finance journey. His approach is practical and relationship-led, with a strong focus on long-term collaboration rather than short-term wins.

What Do You Enjoy Doing Outside Of Work?

Jake:
“I’m a bit of a wannabe chef. I love cooking and BBQing. Anything that involves experimenting with flavours or cooking for friends and family is my idea of a good time. Baking though… that’s where I draw the line.”

Jake enjoys the creativity and social side of cooking. Whether it’s firing up the BBQ or trying a new recipe, the kitchen is where he unwinds after a busy week.

What’s Your Favourite Food?

Jake:
“Curry. Easy choice. I could eat it every day and never get bored.”

A simple answer, but one delivered with total confidence.

Dangling feet over a high drop.

Biggest Fear?

Jake:
“Heights. Definitely heights.”

Safe to say you won’t find him volunteering for any rooftop team-building exercises anytime soon.

Tell Us About Your Pets

Jake:
“I’ve got two cats, Ronnie and Reggie. They like to think they’re in charge.”

Like most cat owners, Jake accepts that household hierarchy is not up for debate.

If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would you choose?

Jake:
“Mike Tyson, Romesh Ranganathan, and Jack the Ripper.”

An unexpected mix that comes with good reasoning:

  • Mike Tyson - “After reading his book, I’d love to hear more of his stories firsthand.”
  • Romesh Ranganathan - “I’m a big fan of his comedy, and he’s local to me. Somehow I’ve never bumped into him.”
  • Jack the Ripper - “So we could finally settle the mystery and find out what actually happened.”

It would certainly make for a memorable dinner conversation.

Jake joins Marsh Finance with a strong focus on strengthening dealer relationships across the South and helping partners see new opportunities in how they work with lenders. His industry experience, approachable style, and enthusiasm for collaboration make him a great addition to the team.

If you’re a dealer in Jake’s region, you’ll likely be hearing from him soon.

Welcome to Marsh Finance, Jake!
